The Nightcross Initiative

  intro   The Yak'tel Village of Nightcross was devastated by the attacks of Zoraal Ja and his mechanical army. Left in shambles, some of its people have fled to the safety of Tuliyollal, but still others wish to struggle on to not only preserve their way of life, but to improve upon it like a phoenix rising from the ashes, determined that their tragedy should not be the last of them.

But everyone who joins this initiative MUST adhere to the guidelines listed down below. Cause drama, headaches, or problems for anyone involved and you will be removed.   No Wallflowers.    If you're a shy little bean that can't get involved in things without an engraved invitation, you won't last long here. We want active, engaged and contributing participants who look forward to adding to our over-arching story.  Participants & Townsfolk    Every participant must create a Townsfolk person to contribute to the growing story. It doesn't have to be immediate, but soon after you join. This will become a Community resource NPC that people can use for their stories, at no time will you be expected to roleplay these characters unless you specifically ask to.  Just be Excellent to each other.    Don't be a tool that sucks the fun out of all this. Be good to each other and have fun! Don't make me have to make any more rules.

  The Cozy Crater Inn & Tavern    Now fully renovated, the inn is prepared to receive guests and visitors while doling out tasty, nutritious meals from a variety of cuisines! They also provide a bathhouse for guest use. It's become a welcome beacon and heart of the community in Nightcross, making it a prime gathering place for Townsfolk and Participants alike!  Unnamed Hospital    The hospital was the hardest hit in the attacks and leveled to the ground. It currently needs to be completely rebuilt, restocked, and restaffed.  Storage Warehouse    A place to store unused materials for the entire township  Town Hall    A central building where characters will find the Duty Board, a place where Townsfolk can come to air their grievances, and other issues can be met on and addressed.  Aetheryte    No quest hub is complete without an aetheryte!  The Watchtower    An old watchtower that overlooks the Cenote of Stars, mostly in ruins and may need to be demolished and rebuilt from the ground up.  The Farm    In an effort to make Nightcross more self-sufficient and supply needed herbs for Gardeningway, Ellanora, and Yakul Ja, even Ateela Ja for cooking there's a plan to build a farm.

  Safety Concerns   Duties that involve public safety, such as culling the local wildlife, saving the Townsfolk from danger, or addressing other outside threats to the township.  Roads & Infrastructure    All the roads have more or less been destroyed or broken to unusability throughout the township. Bridges will need to be rebuilt. Waterworks will need to be re-established.  Recreation & Festivities    Games and entertainments to keep the townsfolk and participants entertained and help them to blow off steam. Also festivals and parties to celebrate holidays and landmarks in progress!  Field Exploration    covers just going out and around Nightcross as well as further abroad to scout out everything from resources to history. Includes learning more about history, finding resources to blitz, uncovering ancient secrets, and finding where the livestock keeps running off to.  Innovation Frustration    Sometimes stuff goes haywire for the populace of Nightcross. Covers everything from Gardeningway's experimentations on plantlife getting out of hand to magitek malfunctions, poking the ancient secrets too hard, pissed off domesticated animals, etc. miscellaneous townsfolk shenanigans brought about by their, or player, quirks.  Combat & Militia Training    Participants take the populace under their wings to try and teach them how to use combat weaponry and defend themselves and the town. This can also apply to building defenses for the township, practice spars, and the like!  Animal Handling    Teaching the locals how to care for and wrangle the many animals that will come into usage in Nightcross.

She's a skilled cook that will help prepare the meals, even hunt the game if necessary.She hopes that by taking the lion's share of the physical burden off the townsfolk that she can encourage them to rebuild their lives and regain a foothold in the region.

Garret knows his way around building up an area. He has helped on many homes across Eorzea and now he hopes to work in a new environment. With his knowledge of crafting, he hopes to eventually have a hand in helping with every building while also teaching those who begin to reside in the small area, how to do their own work and upkeep. And a big thing with him is knowing that after a good long day of work, that a nice time to relax and enjoy the company of others, is what is needed for everyone.

Her specialties don't seem to point to anything immediately useful, so her thinking is set firmly in the long-term. Water safety, food security, trade, etc. It can get really dry, so she won't bother explaining.

Regardless, she hopes that her engineering talent can help retain tradition while introducing modernity.

Trouble on the trails? Goods need moving, material or otherwise? Construction? Logging, quarrying, material acquisition?Ardent Tempest is native to the far northern regions of Xak Tural, and far afield on a holy journey, this savage paladin brings his goodwill everywhere he goes. He's spent a long time in the airship circuit working in moving goods and befriending merchants, using that network of contacts to get around the star to perform other jobs such as monster hunting and courier work. With his immense physical might, and his specialized equipment, he is a stalwart defender and bodyguard, and his travels have availed him skill in butchery, construction, herbalism and more. There are few things he can't be taught - and with the Nightcross' needs in mind, he'll make an excellent addition to the workforce.

While building businesses from the ground up is something Kosuke has grown used to, building an entire town is certainly a step beyond that. Certainly, it's a bit surprising to see an Ul'dahn urbanite deep within the jungles of Y'ak Tel, but supposedly he's here to find some profit in-between the shaded boughs of the forest and help the locals rebuild. If there's more, the Raen certainly feels no need to say it, as he handles the more clerical matters as best as he can without an office and a steady supply of coffee.

The Cozy Crater

The inn run by Ateela Ja is a clean and orderly establishment now that it's been fully repaired!It provides temporary housing for all the Townsfolk of Nightcross, with room left for the occasional visitor or two. The kitchen is fully stocked with an array of spices and foodstuffs provided by our steadfast Participants! So there's a variety of meals to be had.With repairs done, there's even a small bathhouse so that the hardworking folk can get clean after a day's work is done!

Unnamed Hospital

The hospital was the hardest hit location in town and was pretty much leveled and in need of being completely rebuilt, along with being resupplied and restaffed. Participants who get involved with the Hospital Project will be able to decide on the new name for the facility by committee once it's complete.

Storage Warehouse

A large storage warehouse watched over by Bozhin Bozvasch. Building it will take large loads of lumber and metal, so it can be built to withstand the jungle climate without rotting.

Town Hall

The future central hub of the township. But who will be mayor? Who will run this town? Questions to be answered at a later time, perhaps.But who, indeed?

Aetheryte

A project spearheaded by Oxomoco Canek, a local aetheryte will provide ease of travel to the burgeoning town. This will be an intensive project with finding the right materials, someone capable of building the thing, as well as to negotiate with the local authorities on linking it to the existing aetheryte network.

The Watchtower

This old watchtower was originally established as the barracks of the Nightcross militia, but the militia was wiped out entirely during Zoraal Ja's advance and the watchtower was one of the places hardest hit. While the primary supports and structure are still present, the watchtower is in horrible disrepair and will need a significant overhaul to be functional again.

The Farm

A project spearheaded by Garret Hjorth and Yaretzi Bozvasch in an effort to make life in Nightcross more sustainable for the locals by giving them not only a source of food and herbs, but something to trade that would be unique to outsiders of Yak T'el.

With the rise of tourist flow throughout Kozama’uka, natives and guests alike have come across beautiful but harmful flora growing along its paths. Glittering like gold, it’s no wonder why people were enticed to poke or collect a sample for themselves, believing themselves lucky enough to stumble upon treasure so openly. However, the reports of bare contact vary from lingering sensations of pins and needles, to long bouts of paralysis, have made this specimen too dangerous to remain as it is.Gardeningway is looking for help investigating the strange plant life. The natives of the lands high and low would appreciate traversing along their paths to be safe once more, especially with travelling guests nearby.Is there anything of worth to be gained from studying the prickly pricks? Or is it best to have them removed as swiftly as possible without the chance of study? After recovering a golem from the depths of the Skydeep Cenote, the golem now resides in Nightcross. However, it's incomplete! It's still missing its Core, Cannon, and Armor Plating.
